Acupuncture & Electroacupuncture
Both traditional acupuncture and electrotherapeutic acupuncture are evidence-based therapeutic modalities used to regulate the nervous system, reduce systemic inflammation, and manage acute or chronic pain.
While traditional acupuncture relies on the manual stimulation of specific anatomical points, electroacupuncture enhances the process by passing a gentle, low-frequency Electrical current through the needles to provide continuous neuro-motor stimulation. Electroacupuncture induces rhythmic, controlled muscle contractions that can effectively interrupt muscle spasms, release rigid trigger points, and restore functional muscle tone.
Both forms of acupuncture also promote tissue healing and are a common treatment modality for the following populations:
People Experiencing Chronic Pain
Athletes
People Experiencing Osteoarthritis
People Experiencing Acute Injuries
Katlyn and Shanjid both completed their Acupuncture training through McMaster University’s Contemporary medical Acupuncture program. This program is widely considered the gold standard for neurofunctional acupuncture in North america. Shanjid also went on to take the advanced course and can incorporate even more treatment points into his practice.
